Two-day mega farmers' fair concludes in BHU







Varanasi, March 20, 2012: The two-day mega farmers' fair and agro-industry exhibition organized by Institute of Agricultural sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), ended on Tuesday with a grand closing ceremony.

Prof. VK Kumra, Registrar, BHU, was the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Kumra was overwhelmed by the ways of exchanging the agriculture related knowledge to the farmers and also for felicitating the farmers for their outstanding performances.
Addressing the function he said for bringing second green revolution in eastern India, scientists and farmers should have work together for facing the challenges ahead.

In this fair, department of genetics and plant breeding, agronomy and entomology & agril zoology, food science and technology received first, second and third prizes respectively for the best stall category.

For best model category, department of horticulture, soil science and agril chemistry got first and second prize respectively and department of extension education and farm engineering jointly got third prize. Department of agricultural economics got a special prize.

In outreach campus category, Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, KVK, Barkachha and directorate of seed research, Mau got first, second and third prizes respectively.

In private stall and companies category, Saubhagya Biotech Pvt, Ltd., Dhanuka Seeds and Krishi Vikas Samiti got first, second and third prizes respectively.
