'Earn While Learn' programme a hit in BHU


Varanasi, November 8, 2010: Banaras Hindu University vice-chancellor Professor DP Singh visited ‘Students Welfare Centre’ which houses offices of Student Council and Dean Students Welfare, on Monday.

He remained in the building for almost 20-25 minutes. It was an unscheduled visit of vice-chancellor to take stock of activities of student council. Every one was surprised to have vice-chancellor directly in the interview board of “Earn While Learn” programme. Professor Singh inquired about “Earn While Learn” programme directly from the students. Students expressed their satisfaction on the programme and requested to the vice-chancellor to increase the number of positions under this programme.

The university administration had constituted three interview boards for the students of faculty of Art & Social Science. Each board consists of two faculty members and one representative of Student Council.

About 500 students have been called up for two-day interview session (November 8 and 9) to sleet students. Chairman of the Student Council said in the current academic secession about 600 students from BHU and 50 students from RGSC Barkachha would be selected under this programme.
