Banaras Hindu University vice-chancellor professor Dhirendra Pal Singh inaugurated Cardiac Cath Lab at the Sir Sunder Lal Hospital on the university campus on April 8, 2011. This is the first of this kind laboratory between Lucknow and Kolkata. The lab has been established under the Prime Minister Health Security Scheme with a cost of Rs 7 crores. BHU had provided Rs 50 lakh for infrastructure development. Dr Praveen Chandra of Vedant City Hospital, Gurgaon, was the guest of honour in the inaugural function.
