BHU Vice Chancellor Dr Lalji Singh inaugurates Career Guidance and Counseling Cell





Varanasi, February 10, 2012: Banaras Hindu University Vice Chancellor Dr. Lalji Singh inaugurated the Career Guidance and Counseling Cell at Student Welfare Center on the university campus here on Friday.  The Center will work in the field of guidance, counseling and career. 

The Centre will work for students to solve all the stresses they have been facing in the campus life. Psychological counseling, psychological therapy, career guidance, career counseling, stress therapy are the areas where the students will get the proper and scientific guidance. 
Dr. Lalji Singh also released ‘Dristi 2011’, a magazine of Student Council. 

Addressing the function, Dr. Singh said the Career Guidance and Counseling Cell plays very important role to deal with the students’ stressful life.  “Stress does not come from campus life but it also comes from environment at home. Students learn 60 per cent of education from his home. So counseling needs to deal with parameter which include life, class room, hostel and playground as well as at home”, he said. 

He wished that the center would play very important role in making student more comfortable and confident to face present and future life of their career. 

“BHU is entering a crucial turning point where if we take up our step properly so that we can compete best universities of the world”, he said. 

He said he had promoted CCMB to have international facilities in biological sciences, which attracted many of international students to take up their PDF (Post Doctoral Fellow) in India at CCMB. The BHU Vice Chancellor announced that from the next session, the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences will be opened at RGSC Barkachha.
