Two-day Kisan Mela begins in BHU





The two-day Kisan Mela (Farmers Fair) and Agri Business Exhibition began in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on February 12, 2011. The show was organized by Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU. Dr KM Pathak, deputy director general (animal husbandry), Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) inaugurated the fair. Addressing the function Dr Pathak stressed upon the need to promote organic farming and switch to innovative agricultural practices to derive maximum benefits.

BHU Rector Professor BD Singh (left in top pix) presided over the inaugural function. Dr Singh also felicitated Dr Pathak (right in top pix) on the occasion by presenting him a memento.
