Varanasi, October 2, 2009:
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) celebrated Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, the birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister by organising several prorgrammes on the university campus.
Renowned Gandhian thought follower and director of Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi, Professor SN Subbarao, was the chief guest in the function, organized at Malviya Bhawan. Dr Rao in his overwhelming speech asked the students to follow Mahatma Gandhi’s thought to build a strong nation.
BHU vice-chancellor, Dr DP Singh presided over the function.
