The dawn to dusk Bharat Bandh called by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Left parties and Samajwadi Party (SP) hit the normal life badly in Varanasi on July 5, 2010.Shops, business establishment remained closed while government offices witnessed thin attendance. Bandh supporters also disrupted train services at Varanasi Junction railway station. Police rounded up several Samajwadi Party (SP) and BJP workers as preventive measure.
