All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Digvijay Singh and Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) chief Reeta Bahuguna Joshi (left) talk to media persons at Circuit House in Varanasi on February 3, 2010 before leaving for Azamgarh to woo the Muslims.
Digvijay, along with Muslim leaders, visited Sajjarpur where he received welcome by party supporters and faced black flags from others. Sajjarpur is a village from where the intelligence agency arrested a suspected terrorist recently.
Talking to scribes Digvijay Singh criticised Shiv Sena for its remarks against Rahul Gandhi and termed the Thackerays as "paper tigers".
"They (Thackerays) are paper tigers. There is no need to pay much attention to them," he said after the Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray stepped up attack on Gandhi on the "Mumbai for all Indians" remark and raked up the issue of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's foreign origin.
